Rheintacho Messtechnik GmbH is a modern, innovative and dynamic company specializing in rotational speed measurement technology. With 55 employees, we develop, manufacture and distribute measuring instruments and sensors that measure rotational speeds of motors, machines and systems. Reducing inefficiency through process
Our customers can expect first-class products with short lead times as well as on-time delivery. At Rheintacho, the number of product variations is enormous and the resources required for custom design is extremely high and when it comes to quality, getting the details right is never as easy as it seems. At the center of our activities is our PEP product development software along with our ERP production-planningprogram. The PEP program allows us to plan and manage all product development milestones. This helps minimize risk and delays and insures that our new product developments are delivered on time, meeting all expected customer and quality requirements. These processes are the primary reason for our high productivity. The systems can also be easily modified to meet special new requirements without sacrificing control and quality.

* The PDP creates a timeframe into which all worksteps in a development are organised: from creation of the product specifications, procurement of the “long-running program” up to clearance for pilot production. It primarily enables development projects to be carried out according to schedule.
** The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system controls and monitors all processes from order receipt up to dispatch. It controls the flow of all goods and automatically deals with all necessary postings, for example material requirements planning, purchasing and reservation of machine times.

Rheintacho Messtechnik GmbH has a simple, efficient organisation structure. The core functions of the company are Product Development (including Strategic Purchase), Sales and Production. All essential operating procedures are organised into step-by-step processes. Our quality philosophy strives to achieve zero error production both internally and from our suppliers and subcontractors.

Using special know-how to create sophisticated technology
Difficult tasks need specialists. The operating conditions for rotational speed sensors are often extreme. High pressures, large temperature variations and strong impact stresses should not influence the validity and accuracy of the data. The sensors must also be immune to aggressive materials and electromagnetic radiation.

Our standard sensors satisfy strong demands. But we also develop special solutions that are ready for production for the harshest of environmental conditions. For example, we develop sensors that can operate in high-pressure environments up to 500 bar, withstand a temperature range of –40 to +160 °C and have extremely leaktight housings for water, oil and solvents. The governing factors for us, beyond the normal standards, are the requirements dictated by the application. Our experiences in developing sensors to meet these special requirements also promote the technical sophistication of our standard sensors. The Rheintacho Messtechnik GmbH product range includes rotational speed sensors with different measuring principles, high-accuracy hand-held measuring instruments which measure not only rotational speed, but also velocity and run length, highly-bright stroboscopes and variably programmable, multi-functional rotational speed monitoring devices. Our specialty is providing sensors for difficult environmental conditions as well as custom housing designs to meet unique application requirements.

Rheintacho Messtechnik´s products are used by world-renowned companies. They are used in combustion engines in power plant and shipping applications, hydraulic engines in construction machines, lifting machines and cleaning vehicles, within electric motors eg for forklifts  and all other electric-driven vehicles,  in gas, water and wind turbines, in pumps, fans and supply installations, in mixers and centrifuges, in paper, film and textile production systems, in thread and wire-wrap machines, in tool machines or CNC processing centres and labelling and packaging production systems.

We operate from two bases.

The main office, located in Freiburg, southwestern Germany is the home of development, production, and sales departments.

Our branch in Leeds/UK is our manufacturing site for eddycurrent-tachometer, tacho generators and different types of displays.

Additionally, this subsidiary is responsible as a markting and service center for UK and some of the Commonwealth countries.
